About Us

JT & PA Croyden Pty Ltd is a local established company that first began trading in Sarina in 1972. Founded by John & Pat Croyden who started the business with just one truck & one loader. Over time, what was a small business, grew into a large company.

John & Pat Croyden started the business of hiring out machinery that John operated himself. As the need for machinery hire grew, John & Pat expanded the business to cater for the growing demand of works required in the area.

Due to their good reputation & prompt service, John & Pat soon had machinery working in the Sarina & surrounding areas. This included contracts at various sites, cartage of Liquid Stock food (Quick Lick) to western areas & as far south as Scone in NSW. A strong customer base for the supply of quarry materials from the three quarries & sand leases the company owned & operated. Cartage of water to local homes, delivery of filter press to farmers & general customers, Contract cartage & application of Bio - dunder to local cane farms & a Bus Charter service with local school runs.

By 2007 the company had expanded to its maximum, employing approximately 80 staff & had many divisions within the business. At this time it also had a diverse transport division including:

• A Contract Carrying /Liquid Transport Division which had a total 26 rigid - prime movers – tippers & 37 trailers comprising dog trailers, road trains & water carts.
• The Earthmoving Division had expanded to three quarries, two just south of Sarina – Baillies & Keatings & another off Homebush Rd, Sarina – Barries Lane & three sand leases.

It was at this point that John & Pat decided to scale down the business after many years of dedicated work; & in February 2007 Croydens sold the Quarrying Division of the business to Readymix Rinker, now trading as Cemex Australia. This was followed by the sale of the Quick Lick Liquid Cattle Feed transport division in June 2007. Then in February 2008 the division of Liquid Bio Dunder Haulage was sold to various local businesses in the Mackay & surrounding areas.

Presently JT & PA Croyden Pty Ltd employs 30 permanent employees & 5 casual workers. The company operates a landscaping yard at Range Road & a fleet of 18 trucks. There is a combination of truck & dog trailers, tandem water carts, semi tippers, Loaders, Excavators & low loaders available for hourly or contract hire.
